“Whosoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Judgment. Whosoever alleviates [the lot of] a needy person, Allah will alleviate [his lot] in this world and the next. Whosoever shields a Muslim, Allah will shield him in this world and the next. Allah will aid a slave [of His] so long as the slave aids his brother. Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise…”
Volunteering is the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community, the environment or individuals outside one’s immediate family. It is undertaken freely and by choice, without concern for financial gain or social status.
One of the central principles of Islam is helping others. This is one of the mandates of JFIC. As can be seen in the diagram to below.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
This is done every 2 weeks. See Packaging Day and Events Schedule.
This is an on-going activity – please share your ideas with us.
We have persons who want to start their own business or are struggling to operate their business. We need persons with business experience who can perhaps meet for about 1 hour per week to provide advice where necessary.
Currently, JFIC distributes to 11 Masajid within Jamaica. One of the main challenges JFIC faces is the collection of food baskets from Kingston to the outer parishes. As such, we are in need of persons who visit Kingston regularly or who may reside in Kingston and visit any of the highlighted areas on the map below (Jamaica Map with marks identifying the masajid)
We urge families,
A good station in the Aakirah is promised to no-one, let us strive to recalibrate our scales towards good deeds to invest in the Aakirah.
