Deliver Food Baskets
One of the main challenges we face is the delivery of our food baskets from Kingston to the masajid in the outer parishes. Join our list of delivery volunteers today.

Our Story
The Jamaica Foundation for Islamic Charity (JFIC) is a non-profit Charitable Organisation legally registered with the Government of Jamaica. It was founded in 2013 with the mandate of facilitating charitable, moral, and spiritual support to communities in Jamaica.
We are dedicated to providing solutions for poverty and hunger in Jamaica by assisting and empowering the poor and disenfranchised with their basic needs.
Our Objectives
Accept donations of food, clothing, money and other property in order to distribute to those requiring assistance.
To provide assistance in housing and medical supplies/expenses.
To coordinate the provision of training and mentorship as needed and within limits. In addition, to providing counselling and wellness services.
Our Programs
At the JFIC we take a comprehensive approach to fulfill our aim of empowering the needy and building a mentally, physically and spiritually healthy society.
Food Basket Program
This program is geared at providing periodic sustenance for families including people who are unable to work due to age/disability and those who are able-bodied but are struggling to find employment.
Medical Expense Program
The goal of this program is to provide medical assistance to those who are afflicted but cannot afford the high cost of treatment, surgery or medication necessary for good health.
Community Employment Program
The goal of this program is to assist persons on the Food Basket Programme in obtaining employment or other persons who may have lost their job or need additional income due to familial obligations.
Scholarships & School Fees Program
This program is to assist those who can’t afford school fees for primary, secondary and tertiary education as well as other school expenses. It is our hope to establish a “Back-to-school” drive in the summers to raise funds for school supplies.

2020 Annual Report
Covid 19 made 2020 an unforgettable year for JFIC, like everywhere else in the world. It has, and continues to have a severe impact on the Jamaican economy, our donors, volunteers and beneficiaries.
By Allah’s permission the Jamaica Foundation for Islamic Charity thrived throughout the pandemic against all odds, and was able to continue disbursements fortnightly in spite of numerous restrictions. Again, none of the above would have been possible without the blessings of Allah and the steady support of our donors, and the efforts of our directors and volunteers.
We are truly grateful for, and humbled by, the trust placed in us, as together we look forward to another year of serving Jamaica in Sha Allah (God willing).
Can I Pay Zakat to the JFIC?
Yes! The JFIC is eligible to receive your Zakat. Paying the Zakat is one of the major religious duties in Islam. Literally, zakat means to “purify”. It refers to the purification of a believers’ wealth and soul.
