JFIC Overview
The Jamaica Foundation for Islamic Charity (JFIC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing solutions for poverty and hunger in Jamaica by assisting and empowering the poor and disenfranchised with their basic needs. We have defined a food basket that is geared at providing periodic sustenance for families in 2 weeks tranches. Our application process includes a rigorous vetting process which seeks to categorize beneficiaries in one of two groups:
- Group 1 – Persons unable to work due to age/disability
- Group 2 – Able-bodied persons unable to find gainful employment. For this group, we will provide temporary assistance and mentoring geared at weaning them in the shortest possible time.
