On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, the Jamaica Foundation for Islamic Charity (JFIC) responded to a request for assistance from our community contact in Slipe, St. Elizabeth, who reached out on behalf of residents severely affected by Hurricane Melissa.
With coordinated efforts and the support of community members, supplies were transported using a Toyota Hiace, our JFIC Noah, and a loaned Hiace to ensure adequate delivery capacity.

Many of these residents live in the inner lanes, away from the main road. As a result, they are often overlooked by passing donors unless they travel out to seek assistance themselves.
The gratitude expressed by the residents was heartfelt, and they were deeply appreciative of the items donated through the Jamaica Foundation for Islamic Charity.
JFIC remains committed to serving vulnerable communities across Jamaica and ensuring that assistance reaches those who might otherwise be unseen.
May Allah (SWT) place barakah in every effort and grant relief to all those affected. Ameen.
